Twyla Garret Of Baltimore Started Her Own Consulting Firm in 2000

Twyla Garret of Baltimore is a highly reputed entrepreneur who owns a woman- and minority- owned firm that specializes in Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness, Management Consulting Services, Life Cycle Acquisition Support, Information Technology (IT) Support Services, Cyber Security & Computer Forensics, and Construction Program Management. It is a management consulting firm with a goal to solve existing problems that today's clients are facing while anticipating and mitigating new ones.

IME Inc. is aimed at providing quality services that help its clients streamlining the processes and embrace competitive advantages. Since starting IME in 2000, Ms. Garrett has facilitated more than 25 tabletop and field exercises conducted in every Federal Region in the US. She also has facilitated COOP exercises for DC Government, and Hampton Roads, Virginia. Other clients include FEMA; DHS; the Government of the District of Columbia; the Maryland Governor’s Office of Homeland Security; and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

She started off working for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in downtown Cleveland. She later moved to San Diego, California and held positions of deputy controller NADEP and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Manager for Space and Naval Warfare System Command (SPAWAR). She has been working with the Federal Government which she later left and started her own management consulting firm.

Twyla Garret of Baltimore also founded and self-funded a 1.5 million dollar entertainment complex in Cleveland, Ohio. Her efforts have single-handily added to the improvement of Cleveland’s economic culture. Owing to her hard work and influential efforts, she has been named one of Cleveland Magazine’s Most Interesting People of 2009 and 2010 respectively. In addition to this, she has also been honored by the Cleveland Living Legends 2010 Awardee and given the City of Cleveland Entrepreneur Proclamation.
